總統馬英九與總統當選人蔡英文今天上午在台北賓館會晤，廣泛就國是交換意見，預計全程約1小時。馬總統與蔡英文會前分別致詞3到5分鐘，開放媒體採訪，之後閉門會談。
馬總統首先致詞表示，為了全民福祉，朝野必須從對立走向和解，才能突破台灣的困境。蔡主席曾公開表示全體黨公職應該謙卑謙卑在謙卑，絕對不可以故意刁難內閣官員，這些都是善意發言，給予高度肯定，也期待具體落實，希望朝野把握政權交接溝通良機，以及和解氣氛，用對話尋求共識。
蔡英文接著說，在過去的選後這段時間，我們一直想尋求適當機會和馬總統見面，馬總統過去一段時間在忙，包括出國訪問友邦，非常感謝府方在我們請求見面情況下，迅速安排，非常感謝。
她說，這段時間以來，相信台灣人民關注這段時間新舊政府交接過程，我想人民期待很清楚，無論在選舉之間有什麼攻防競爭，都能在移轉過程中順利，這次會面有三個重大意義，那就是民主、責任以及合作。
